The Truth About Fragrances

Updated: Sep 16, 2021

Fragrances are linked to a large number of health issues. There are multiple research studies, showing chemicals used to make fragrances are classified as allergens, hormone disruptors, asthma triggers, neurotoxins & carcinogens. In other words, fragrances can be highly toxic.

Fragrances commonly contain phthalates, which are chemicals that help the scents last longer. Health risks for phthalates include cancer, human reproductive and developmental toxicity, endocrine disruption, birth defects & respiratory problems. These toxins are very hard to avoid because manufacturers are not required to list them on ingredient labels.

Fragrance chemicals, like other toxic chemicals, can pass from the skin and into the blood. Remember, our skin is our biggest organ and it is like a sponge. It absorbs what we apply on it.

For these reasons, I will never use fragrance oils, other than essential oils in my skincare products. Essential oils are "truly" natural and I only purchase them from well-sourced, highly reputable distributors that sell organic or wild crafted ingredients. I truly want your experience with Nutrilife's soaps and lotions, to be harmonious with nature and your health.
